The Eye of God by James Rollins

I have belatedly discovered the author, James Rollins, and am glad there are more of his books on the shelf.

If you like action mixed with science and archaeology, then The Eye of God is a book for you.

A crashing military satellite sends an image of what appears to be the end of the world and starts a chase from Rome to North Korea, Kazakhstan to Mongolia to save the planet.

The challenge links St Thomas with Genghis Khan and secrets that could be hidden in Genghis’s lost tomb.

Add in the bad guys from the Hong Kong/Macau triads and a race against time, and you have a fast, action packed and entertaining read.
