Suddenly as a Shadow by Roy Lewis

This book is a satisfying read. Aside from the intriguing plot, the author uses excellent sentence structure — pared downand succinct — much as Gertrude Stein would have written. The writing is tight and pointed, moving the action forward, and a pleasure to read.

Weaving in interesting facts about some obscure anthropology, Lewis keeps the reader turning the pages, discovering why foot bones could be the clue to linking different civilisations by shared genetic malfunctions or similarities.

For those of us hoping to have access to new knowledge as we enjoy the resolution of mysteries, this worthwhile book does not disappoint.
