Before the Fact by Francis Iles

Franics Iles’ Before The Fact is set in the countryside in a hamlet near Dorsetshire. The first chapters have you shouting out,” Be careful ……don’t fall for that rotter’s line”, as you can see the cad Johnnie Aylsworth’s reeling in the innocence of Lina McLaidlaw.

During the journey, one might ask if Lina becomes an accomplice as her blind passion vis-a-vis O. J. Simpson syndrome, shields and distorts understanding of her immediate reality. But then, her deep obsessive love for Johnnie, gambler and idyll fop, warps her thinking, until her last breathe when all is revealed!
