Author Review — James Melville

James Melville is one of the pseudonyms of Roy Peter Martin (5 January 1931 – 23 March 2014). Under the pseudonym of Hampton Charles he also wrote 3 novels in the popular Miss Seeton series (see review of this series here). However, as James Melville, he created Superintendent Tetsuo Otani of the Kobe police. He wrote 13 novels about Otani as well as several spy stories, historical novels, including The Imperial Way about the 1936 Japanese military coup, and a history of the Japanese emperors.
