Talkabout Sydney Watering Sydney: Busby’s Bore, the Tank Stream, Lachlan Swamps & Prospect Dam Did you know that Sydney was originally an Eastern Suburbs “principality” with its water coming from the Tank Stream, Busby’s Bore and the Botany Swamps?  In getting extra water the “monumental” Upper Nepean Scheme changed that and in turn gave pressurized water to the Southern, Western and Northern Suburbs of Sydney, a change which helped shape the Sydney we know today. Jon Breen is an Engineering Historian, and has been involved in the Water Industry for over 40 years. “
