Terry Eakin will discuss another aspect of early Australian immigration and shipping at this meeting.
In 1837 the ship “Lady McNaughton” with 444 people on board was quarantined at North Head in Sydney Harbour. During its journey to Sydney 54 people had died of typhus and 13 more died while the ship was in quarantine.
Terry believes that the ship’s story is worth telling and it will form the basis of this meeting.
There will be ample time for members to raise their family history questions during the meeting.
Visitors welcome. Please note that there is an attendance fee of $5 at all meetings. For visitors & non-members, first-time visits are free, but for later visits there is a $10 charge.
