Should shareholders always come first? A different view on shareholder rights
Should company boards put shareholders second in some business decisions? And if so, why? An alternative point of view on shareholder rights. Judith Fox is National Director, Policy & Publishing, Governance Institute of Australia, formerly called Chartered Secretaries Australia. Judith advocates for sound regulatory frameworks in governance and corporate law, develops thought leadership papers and guidance, and conducts research on Australian governance and risk management. Judith has represented Governance Institute of Australia on the ASX Corporate Governance Council since 2005, and is also a member of Standards Australia’s Risk Management and Governance Committees, the Business Reporting Leaders Forum and ASIC’s Business Advisory Committee.
After the presentation the group discusses branch issues and meets informally over coffee, for which there is a $2pp charge. The Forum offers the opportunity to discuss your portfolio and current investment ideas with other members. This meeting is led by convenor John Upton.
