Sydney Invester Forum: Pitfalls and profits from long term investing
Presented by Steve Johnson, Chief Investment Officer at Forager Funds. Steve will explain why successful long term investing is so difficult, yet potentially so profitable. He’ll use mistakes and successes from his own investing career to show what goes wrong and give current examples of opportunities for those prepared to hold for the long term.
Steve joined the Intelligent Investor business in 2003 and became a significant shareholder in the business in 2004. After managing the research business for the next six years, Steve started the funds management business that is now Forager Funds Management in 2009 and is now responsible for more than $150m of investor funds.
After the presentation the group discusses branch issues and meets informally over coffee, for which there is a $2pp charge. The Forum offers the opportunity to discuss your portfolio and current investment ideas with other members. This meeting is led by convenor John Upton.
