Professor Lesley Hughes — Climate Change & Australia (RESCHEDULED)

PLEASE NOTE: This event has been RESCHEDULED due to circumstances beyond our control.
The NEW DATE will be Thursday, 2 November at 6:00pm.
Please update your diaries accordingly. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our climate system is changing rapidly as a result of human activity. Australia is considered one of the most vulnerable developed countries to the impacts of climate change and we have already experienced unprecedented heatwaves and fire risk, catastrophic damage to the Great Barrier reef, and many other impacts. The changing climate is affecting all sectors — our economy, food security, health, communities and environment.

Professor Lesley Hughes will address the latest global and national trends and identify the most important observed and future impacts.

But it’s not all bad news and there are many exciting opportunities to ensure a viable future, both for the planet’s species and our children.
