Martin McDonagh’s In Bruges

Classic Film Night

In Bruges, is a dark comedy and writer/director Martin McDonagh’s feature film debut.

Two hitmen, Ray (Colin Farrell) and Ken (Brendon Gleeson), are laying low in the medieval Belgian city of Bruges after a job went wrong. Waiting upon further instruction from mob boss Harry, they live the tourist life, which bores a troubled Ray and delights Ken. Distracting himself with booze and women, Ray reveals feels guilty after accidentally killing a boy.

Ken learns that Harry sent them to Bruges to give Ray one last, lovely memory before he is killed, and that Ken himself is to do the hit. This sets the pair stumbling through an increasingly surreal set of circumstances, that include a film crew with a drug-abusing dwarf.
