We are thrilled to welcome Russell Workman back to the Tom Keneally Centre for a fascinating talk on heritage and archaeology photography.
Russell will share his photos and experiences from archaeological digs in Greece and Jordan — including images recording important artifacts that where later lost to fire.
We will also be treated to photograph from Russell’s ‘Shoptops’ project that features the facades of suburban shops circa. 1870 to 1930. This significant project was funded by a grant from the Royal Australian Historical Society and covers Sydney’s inner-west region ranging from Homebush West to Balmain East.
As Russell says, it’s astounding what images you can can capture if you only you look up once in a while!
