Join Angela Phippen, for the City of Sydney Historical Association, as she shares the story of esteemed stained glass artist George Hedgeland.
Like many other 19th century migrants, George came to Australia for a new, better life. He was an English artist and stained glass artist who became a pastoralist in Queensland, and later a surveyor of Sydney streets. This illustrated talk will tell the story of George’s extraordinary and varied life as well as the poignant and sometimes tragic story of some of the people commemorated in his windows.
