The increasing concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is trapping more and more of the Earth’s outgoing infrared radiation, causing an energy imbalance. Our planet’s natural response to this “radiative forcing” is an increase in temperature: Climate Change.
Some possible solutions lie with Geo-Engineering. Removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere might help, but it is easier said than done. Another option might be to re-establish the energy balance by blocking some of the incoming sunlight.
Join Atmospheric Physicist Ass. Prof. Micheal Box as discusses Geo-Engineering, whether it is something we should do, and if so, what might be the consequences
