Maritime Historian Chris Frame has been interested in ocean liners since he read “Exploring the Titanic” by Robert D. Ballard as a child. It introduced him to a world where passenger ships were the only way to travel.
Chris’s first cruise on the QE2 inspired him learn everything there was to know about these great liners and to share that knowledge with others by becoming a maritime historian. His first website on the QE2 was published in 1999 and has since morphed into a Cunard history website.
Chris regularly appears on television news, documentaries and radio as a subject matter expert for ocean liner history, cruise ships and aviation. Some of his recent highlights include BBC’s Heir Hunters, Sky News and ABC’s conversations.
He is a contributor to various magazines and other publications including Cruise Passenger, Cruising News & Pictorial, Ships Monthly, Sea Breezes, Porthole, Cunard Passages, Australian Aviation, Airliner World and Airports of the World.
Chris is the author of a number of books on ocean liners including (but not limited to) QE2: A Photographic Journey, 175 Years of Cunard and The Evolution of the Transatlantic Line, and most recently QE2: A 50th Anniversary Celebration.
2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the most legendary ocean liner of our time — the QE2.
Throughout her long career, the QE2 carried more people, and steamed more miles than any ship before her, entertaining royalty, celebrities and millions of everyday people along the way.
