On behalf of the Board, I would like to express our gratitude and deep appreciation to all members for their patience and understanding during this difficult year.
It has been a challenging time, not only for the members but for our Board, staff, tenants and hirers, with frequently changing Government restrictions for organisations. Our SMSA Library has had to move quickly from being open to providing click and collect, to browsing and back again, before finally being able to reopen for browsing in November.
Members groups have understood the need to cancel meetings in-house at SMSA until 2021, as it has been extremely difficult to provide the amount of space required for safe social distancing.
But now for the good news!
Work has been completed on the roof membrane and accessible toilet and the refurbishment of the Mitchell Theatre will commence shortly. We are looking forward to sharing our upgraded spaces with you soon.
2021 will be an exciting year for the SMSA – we have some great things planned which we will update you on as we go. While there will still be challenges, with our secretary Max Bosotti and the Board these will be addressed and solved as they have been this past year.
I hope you all take care and keep safe over the holidays. Here’s to a beautiful Australian summer without the devastating bushfires of last year.
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. As always, please feel free to contact me with any queries or even just to say hello.
We look forward to welcoming you back in 2021!
