Library Reopens for Browse & Borrow

9.30am – 4:00pm

Closed on Saturday

The Library will be open for Browse & Borrow only
Maximum time limit 30 minutes

VISITING GUIDELINES

There will be a limit of 10 members in the Library at one time.
No need to book in for a timeslot, but if the Library is already at capacity, we will ask you to leave and come back later. Due to social distancing requirements, members are not permitted to wait in the lobby and will need to leave the building.
Access is on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and we are not able to take bookings.
Members will have maximum 30 minutes in which to browse and borrow.
Please keep your visit brief to allow other members access to the library.
Normal return policies now apply, all items to be returned by the due date.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

If you are feeling unwell, even with mild cold or flu symptoms such as sore throat/cough, please do not visit the Library.
We are required to keep records of everyone who visits, and you will need to:
- Have your temperature taken before entry;
- Sign in as you enter the Library, providing contact details; and
- Confirm you have not been in contact with anyone with the COVID-19 virus.
Hand sanitiser will be provided on entry and departure.
Wearing a face mask is recommended.
Be mindful of social distancing (1.5 metres between you and others) at all times.
Books to be put in quarantine for 24 hours on return, and then sanitised before being put back on shelves.

SERVICES

The Library will be open for Browse & Borrow only.
Membership payments will be accepted (cards preferred).
Cuthbert’s will be closed and there will be no tea or coffee available.
Newspapers / crosswords will not be available.
Computers will not be available.
No use of tables or couches, please do not read or study in the Library.
The Tom Keneally Centre remains closed at this time.
We anticipate that on-site member events will recommence in early 2021. In the meantime there are online events scheduled for November 2020.

For those members who do not yet feel comfortable spending time inside the Library, we still have the following services available. These will be located in the Library foyer, just outside the lifts, during opening hours only:

The Click & Collect service.
The new Grab A Bag service.
A Returns box.

Please respect these guidelines for the safety of all members and staff.

We are pleased to announce the reopening of the SMSA Library from Monday 16 November 2020 for browsing and borrowing.

The SMSA Board recently re-assessed the current COVID-19 situation and have confirmed we will be opening on a limited basis, with restrictions and safety precautions still in place.
