** EDIT: Update 17 July 2020**
I hope everyone is enjoying taking advantage of our Click & Collect service — it has been great for Erika, Stephen and I to see at least some of you again.
Please be patient and continue to use this service for a little while longer until we feel it is safe for members and staff to open again.
One thing that has come to my attention since we have been running this service is that many of you are either not comfortable using the Library catalogue and/or find browsing for books online much harder than browsing the shelves.
So we have put together some lists of authors who write in different genres to assist you in finding your perfect read. We have also added a handy ‘What is your Mystery Genre?’ guide to help you navigate the various sub-genres. All of these are works in progress and we are in the process of updating them.
If this is not sufficient, you may find it useful to refer to fantasticfiction.com or goodreads.com which can recommend books based on authors and books you like, with their “similar titles” or “author recommends” searches. If you require any assistance with these sites, please contact the library staff at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can search for you. Once you have found a book on one of these websites, you can check in the catalogue whether we have that title.
Also, to make things even easier (I hope!) we have adjusted the library “hold” settings so that you can now place items on hold directly from the catalogue, once you have signed in using your username and password. This means that you can request books via the catalogue!
I hope that this is helpful and may remind of authors that you have forgotten about, or that you have heard about but not read, or just given you an idea for something different!
