As we enter the Easter season, on behalf of the Board let me extend to you our warmest wishes for a Happy Easter.
These are indeed difficult times for many Australians with significant job losses and disruption to family life. The travel restrictions have greatly impacted social life and created a significant change for many people as to how we communicate. Many of these changes are likely to be permanent.
This can clearly be seen in the way members have embraced e-books with an almost 400% increase since the library has been closed. Many who previously shied away from electronic versions are now becoming accustomed to reading books on an iPad or other electronic device. As a consequence we also need to examine how technology can assist in bringing more members to events without a physical presence.
I look forward to current restrictions being lifted in the near future and reopening the library and presenting events. In the meantime please continue to take care and keep safe.
