On behalf of the board, I am pleased to welcome Mr Max Bosotti as the new Secretary of the School. Max’s appointment was announced at the recent Annual General Meeting held on 10th March.
Max Bosotti has had a diversified career, holding senior positions in companies across several industry sectors.
After completing his schooling in Sydney, Max’s family moved to Canada where he undertook his degree in Mechanical Engineering. His corporate career began with a technical sales role with Texaco Canada leading to more senior roles in contract negotiations. After a total of twelve years in Canada he returned to Australia with his Australian wife, Cathy, and their two children.
At Caltex Australia, Max formed their embryonic strategic planning unit. He then joined Barclays Bank, utilising his financial modelling and finance experience in various investment banking roles and ultimately becoming the Director Strategic Planning for the region. Following this he went to Telstra, where his key achievement was establishing the company’s internet business in 1995 at a time when all internet traffic in Australia went through Telstra Internet. He then outsourced Telstra’s computer operations which transferred 3500 staff to a new entity formed with Lend Lease and IBM Australia.
After leaving Telstra in 2000, Max managed specialised internet equipment sales for Siemens in Australia and New Zealand. Max then operated his own consultancy company becoming Managing Director of a research and development company which he took to the USA earning significant sponsorship for it from the US Army.
For 13 years until 2019, Max was CEO of ParaQuad NSW, the Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of NSW. In this role, which serviced some 1700 members, he oversaw the rebuilding of Ferguson Lodge, a specialised spinal facility, at Lidcombe and established a full blown commercial operation, BrightSky Australia, with sales people across Australia to support the charity.
