The Moorambilla Voices MAXed OUT choir were recently in Sydney for a performance and found themselves in need of a rehearsal space. SMSA was happy to help out, as we recently awarded Moorambilla Voices a $10,000 grant to support their work.
Moorambilla Voices is a multi-arts development program engaging rural and remote children from the remote North West region of NSW, which is the most remote, isolated and disadvantaged third of the State of NSW. It provides a rich cultural opportunity for talented young people to connect with music-making of the highest calibre, in collaboration with some of Australia’s finest composers, musicians, choreographers and regional artists. Over one third of participants are Indigenous;
Moorambilla Voices is in its 11th year and has three regional choirs – Regional Boys, Regional Girls and MAXed OUT Company for high schools.
