$10,000 grant awarded to the Goulburn Strings Project

The Board of the SMSA recently approved a grant of $10,000 to help fund the Goulburn Strings Project.

An initiative of the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium, the Goulburn Strings Project is a musical education program for beginner strings students at Goulburn Public School. It has seen a measurable improvement in outcomes for the children involved, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The GRC’s director, Mr Paul Scott-Williams spoke at the SMSA’s Annual General Meeting, held on Tuesday 15 March, about the program’s inception and results.

The Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts is delighted to be providing support for such an exciting and constructive investment in education and cultural development in the Goulburn region.
